Name: Patrice Valentine

Marital Status: Married 4 years – and it’s EXCELLENT!!!

Children: One daughter, 14 months old. We have two dogs Ryder who is 7 years old (named because of his love for chasing cars in his younger years) and Sergeant 1 year, nicknamed Sarge.

Occupation: Owner/manager of a website design and development company called Net Solutions North America. I am in partnership with my mom and dad.  I have worked with my dad since my early years and we have always worked well together – we are great partners.  My mom does all the bookkeeping and my dad does the marketing and keeps things on track.

We believe all businesses should have a website, a web presence that is custom designed to represent each individual business and can be managed by the individual business after the site has been created.

Where did you grow up: I was born in Missoula, Montana and moved to Redmond, WA when I was 6 yrs old.  At age 17, I moved to Bellingham to attend Western where I earned a degree in Child Psychology.

How long have you lived in Whatcom County: 8 years

Favorite activities:  My husband and I like to walk with the dogs on different trails in Whatcom County – mainly Lake Padden where the dogs can swim and get muddy.

I love Fairhaven with its unique shops; it’s really fun to browse.

When we are not with the dogs we like to take wine tasting weekends and trips, or entertain friends and family at our house.

Favorite places to eat: Mambo Italiano in Fairhaven, great lasagna and wine. And Five Columns off Samish for great Greek food; you have to try Five Columns if you haven’t been there. Order the Saganaki.

Last community event attended: Chamber breakfast, it’s a great place to connect with other business people and learn about and share ones own service. And, they have great prizes.  Business after Business, this networking event is a more informal way to meet business people in Whatcom and get to know each other on a more social and personal level. I am on the advisory committee for the Whatcom Young Professionals which has been a great way to network with other up and coming local professionals. I am also the Vice President for the Whatcom Referral Network that meets every Thursday morning.

Favorite listening: I am a talk radio junkie!

Recommended reading: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Favorite non-profit:  Brigid Collins does great work with children and, of course anything to do with animals. There is an animal rescue called Sara’s Sanctuary in Redmond that we are developing a website for that does amazing work. Sara's Sanctuary advocates for the safety, well-being, and quality of life for all animals. They provide a safe and secure haven to abused and disabled, Exotic wildlife and birds.

Where do you shop:  We shop at Fred Meyer and Haggen for food and I do most of my clothes shopping on-line because I can shop after work when the stores are closed.  You’ll find my husband in Yeager’s or GI Joes. I do make time to go into Four Starrs Boutique in Fairhaven.

Where do you go on a rainy day for fun:  I like to stay home and curl up by the fire – sometimes joined by my laptop.

One of your Fondest Memories: My wedding day, seeing my husband in a tux for the first time was pretty darn cute!

What do you love about Bellingham: The PEOPLE – everyone is so authentic and different. They are willing to share their thoughts, beliefs and passions with one another.
