"My group of friends and I were walking downtown this weekend for breakfast and there was a line to get into the Little Cheerfull so we walked around some more and saw that Shahrazad was now doing breakfast so we took a chance. WOW was it worth it. The food was the best I've ever had in Bellingham. We each got something different since the server said everything was pretty much big enough to split and she was right. the frech toast is huge and so good, the potato pancakes that came with everything were so flavorfull and crispy not like most of the places in town that are soggy and limp. My girlfriend got the vegan biscuits and gravy and tried to send it back she said whe got the wrong one it tasted like meat but she was wrong. The chef showed us the diffrence in the two pots of gravy and explained that she just used really good soy sausage and even I thought it was great. Our friends got an omlet and pancakes that were complealty gone by the time we got done with it. so bellingham this is the new place for breakfast in town"

"I've dinned at Shahrazad tons of times. The owners and cooks are extreemly friendly and always willing to chat while they make my food. Everything is so fresh and tastes homemade, thats beacuse it is. The only things they don't make are the baklava and pita bread that means no preservitives or chemicals or extended shelf life. I used to be a gyro junkie until Danielle the chef and owner told me its one of the few things they buy and can't make the right way beacuse of the health department. She purseded me into trying the Kubideh Kabob which she makes from fresh lamb and beef sirloin. It was one of the best things I've ever had, it was so moist and juicy it dribbled down my chin. Now I always order what she thinks I should order off the nightly special menu. My vegitarian friends tell me that the falafel is the best they've ever had and they now have a bunch of other vegitarian and vegan options too. The prices are right inline with other eateries on the block and their quality is so much better. "

"On a recent weekday night I was pressed for time and needed a place to grab dinner before a show at the Upfront theater. I had about 40 minutes. Both Taco Lobo and Banditos (my standbys) were packed with lines out the door. So I though of Shahrazad — an order at the counter type of place. When I got there, the restaurant was completely empty and I thought it would be perfect because no customers meant I'd get my food quickly and be on my way. It took a half hour for my food to come out, and it only did so after I asked the woman at the counter about when it would be ready. She had apparently become distracted when a new customer came in and she proceeded to chat with that customer for about ten minutes while I waited and waited and waited for her to start making my food. I'm very disapointed about this experience because the food really is quite good, but I've said several experiences of terrible service."
