Akie designs and creates wedding, cocktail and party dresses, slacks, jackets, blouses, suits and coats. She also specializes in custom tailoring and alterations for men and women, as well as slipcovers, curtains, and other fabric needs.

Akie also maintains a line of the finest materials, including cotton, linen, silk and other fabrics obtained from New York City's Garment District and the Far East. Provide your own fabric or choose from a wide selection of the finest materials from her studio.

Clothing that fits! -- The new mantra in fashion is "wear clothiing that fits!" but that is much easier said than done unless you have your purchases altered. Until you find a good seamstress, one who really understands "fit," "shape," "drape" and "making you clothes do the work for you," chances are, you are struggling too hard to find something off the rack that actually looks good. Akie has altered several items for me and, in fact, has made several custom pieces. After years of frustration trying to find clothes to fit -- I'm six feet tall -- I can tell you how wonderful it is to finally own a pair of pants (okay, many pairs of pants!) that are very well made and not only fit me like a glove but flatter me as well! The quality of Akie's work is superior to any mass-produced factory piece I have ever owned, regardless of brand name, and her prices are very reasonable. Most people think of dollar signs when they hear the word "custom;" prepare to be pleasantly surprised. What's the hardest thing for you to find that fits well? Akie is making my wedding dress, as well as my maid of honor's. I showed her a picture of the designer dress I wanted and she had a sample made within two weeks. Excellent Seamstress! -- I was talking with a friend over breakfast and asked her if she knew of a seamstress? Her eyes lit up when she said she just happened to know an excellent tailor.
